About the Role Our client, a prominent leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for a highly experienced and efficient Operations Manager to oversee their distribution and logistics operations in **Markham, Ontario**. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth, timely, and cost-effective flow of goods from our client's facilities to their customers. You will be responsible for managing warehouse operations, optimizing inventory control, coordinating transportation, and leading a dedicated team of supply chain professionals. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of modern logistics practices, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in operational excellence within the FMCG or related industries. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping. Develop and implement efficient inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize carrying costs. Manage and optimize transportation logistics, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight cost management. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse and logistics staff, fostering a culture of safety and high performance. Implement and enforce strict health and safety standards within the distribution centre. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations, such as on-time delivery rates, inventory accuracy, and operational costs. Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations management, with a significant focus on distribution and logistics, preferably within the FMCG industry . Proven experience in managing large warehouse operations and complex supply chain networks. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Excellent understanding of inventory management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency and cost savings. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
