Role Description The Account Assistant is a full-time, on-site position based in Montreal, QC, supporting the finance and accounting team with daily operational tasks. Responsibilities include processing invoices, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, managing petty cash transactions, and maintaining accurate and organized financial records. The role involves monitoring credit control activities, following up on outstanding payments, and preparing basic financial reports or summaries as requested. The Account Assistant will communicate with internal departments and external partners to resolve billing queries and ensure timely and accurate information flow. The role also includes supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, filing documents, and performing other related administrative tasks in the accounting function. Qualifications • Candidates should possess foundational Accounting and Finance skills, including basic bookkeeping, invoice processing, and understanding of financial documentation. • Candidates should possess Credit Control skills, such as monitoring outstanding accounts, following up on payments, and supporting receivables management. • Candidates should possess Petty Cash management skills, including recording transactions, reconciling balances, and ensuring proper documentation. • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, responding to inquiries, and maintaining professional interactions with clients and vendors. • Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with MS Excel and other office software, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. • Candidates should ideally have a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in an accounting or administrative support role. • Candidates should be comfortable working on-site in Montreal, QC, and able to communicate in English; knowledge of French is considered an asset.
