Mechanical Design Engineer, 3D Packaging

The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Markham, ON. This role is responsible for creating mechanical systems designs and layouts for fire suppression systems, from concept through to production. Day‑to‑day tasks include creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, performing design calculations, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as electrical engineering, manufacturing, and project management. The role also involves preparing technical documentation, develop shop drawings, GA, P&IDs, calculations related to land bearing and metal enclosure fabrication, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and providing engineering support during installation and commissioning when required. Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for developing mechanical solutions and system components. Candidates should possess Machine Design and Mechanical Engineering skills to perform calculations, select components, and ensure reliability and safety. Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for creating 3D models, detailed drawings, and documentation (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar). Relevant experience in industrial equipment, fire protection systems, or related mechanical systems is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience. NFPA, CSA, UL) is an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and quality. Ability to work collaboratively on‑site in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A high degree of competency with AutoCad, SolidWorks, and REVIT, and Certifications are mandatory. #
