About the Role
As a member of our Fixed Income Accounting team, you will hold primary responsibility for preparing and reviewing core accounting processes. You will ensure our organization appropriately records accounting entries and reports accounting results in accordance with US GAAP and U.S. Statutory regulations. This role plays a crucial part in supporting corporate investment strategies and partnering with multi-product finance teams across a broad multi-basis accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Accounting Execution & Review: Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all Fixed Income investments across multiple accounting bases (US GAAP and U.S. Statutory).
• Close & Reconciliations: Perform monthly/quarterly close tasks, including transaction processing, balance reconciliations, journal entries, income/asset allocations, and pricing analytics.
• Internal Controls: Execute all applicable SOX controls for owned processes and support internal/external U.S. GAAP and Statutory reporting schedules.
• Process Optimization: Research and review accounting guidance to assess existing processes, identify efficiencies or potential business gaps, and conduct thorough workflow reviews for continuous improvement.
• Strategic Problem-Solving: Act as a value-add analytical resource by bringing structure to complex problems, managing contingency planning, anticipating issues, and handling additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Certification: CPA or other relevant professional accounting/finance certification required.
• Experience: 2–5 years of accounting or finance experience, with direct experience in monthly/quarterly accounting close processes.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, exception management, resolution, and proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot).
• Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, high attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and strong communication skills with the ability to navigate conflicts and meet tight deadlines.
