Freelance Business Development & Sales Representative Contract / Freelance Remote Commission-Based with Potential Retainer About Cakeworthy Cakeworthy is a pop culture and fandom-inspired apparel and accessories brand known for creating officially licensed collections that celebrate the stories and characters people love. We partner with major entertainment brands and retailers to bring unique products to fans across North America. We're looking for an experienced freelance sales professional to help expand our wholesale and corporate partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and drive revenue growth. Role Overview As a Freelance Business Development & Sales Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities for Cakeworthy. This includes wholesale accounts, specialty retailers, corporate partnerships, and other revenue-generating channels. This role is ideal for a self-starter with an existing network in apparel, retail, licensing, gift, or pop culture-related industries. Responsibilities • Prospect and develop new wholesale and retail accounts. • Identify opportunities with specialty retailers, boutiques, museum stores, theme parks, and pop culture-focused businesses. • Generate and qualify leads through networking, outreach, and industry relationships. • Schedule and conduct sales presentations and product pitches. • Build and maintain relationships with buyers and decision-makers. • Collaborate with the Cakeworthy team on product opportunities, pricing, and sales strategies. • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and provide regular reporting on opportunities and activity. • Negotiate and close sales opportunities that align with company goals. Qualifications • Proven experience in sales, business development, wholesale, or account management. • Existing relationships within retail, apparel, licensing, gift, specialty, or entertainment-related industries are considered a strong asset. • Demonstrated ability to generate leads and close deals independently. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Highly organized and self-motivated. • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own schedule. • Experience using CRM systems is preferred.
