Large and diverse corporation located on the subway line seeks an ambitious AVP Finance that wants to reach the next level of management! This position has a corporate analytical slant.
Responsibilities
· Planning, directing and analysis for multiple entities
· Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
· Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
· Coordinating activities of external auditors
· Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
· Managing the entire budget process for all entities
· Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
· Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
· Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
· Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
· Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including assisting with tax planning and compliance
· Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
· Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
· Maximizes return by monitoring bank balances and investments
· Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
· Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
· Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
· Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
· Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
· Troubleshooting with warehouse and operational staff.
