Role Description: The Accounting Controller is a full-time, on-site role located in Montrealt, QC, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely reporting. Day-to-day tasks include managing the general ledger, cost accounting, preparing and reviewing financial statements, coordinating month-end and year-end closings, monitoring internal controls etc. The role involves analyzing financial data, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The Accounting Controller will collaborate closely with management to provide financial insights for decision-making and will supervise or guide accounting staff as needed to maintain efficient processes and high data integrity. Qualifications • Strong finance and business control skills, including over 5 years experience managing budgets, overseeing manufacturing cost accounting and internal financial controls. • Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements and financial reporting. • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards. • Experience with Sage 300 accounting software, and strong proficiency in Excel and other productivity tools. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA and/or CMA or equivalent) is required. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership. • Ability to work on-site in Montreal (downtown), QC, and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all financial matters.
