About the Role Our client, a rapidly expanding telecommunications provider, is looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations center (NOC) entirely remotely. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to manage and optimize network performance from anywhere in the US. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the network, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and security. You will lead a distributed team of network engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in a remote-first environment. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our client's network infrastructure, supporting a broad range of telecommunication services. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a global, remote Network Operations Center (NOC) team, ensuring 24/7 network monitoring and support. Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability. Oversee incident management, problem management, and change management processes for the network infrastructure. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for network operations, reporting on performance and availability. Manage network capacity planning and forecasting to anticipate future needs and ensure adequate resources. Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect critical infrastructure and data. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC, leveraging automation and best practices. Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to facilitate seamless deployment of new network services and technologies. Mentor and develop remote team members, fostering a high-performing and engaged workforce. Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs) relevant to network operations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in network operations and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a NOC or similar team. Extensive experience with network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and network management platforms. Deep understanding of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, firewalls, and network security. Proven ability to manage and lead distributed, remote teams effectively. Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies is a strong asset. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, crucial for a remote leadership role. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and remote work environment.
