Job Description Type: 4-month contract, with potential for extension
Location: Hybrid in Ottawa (proof of COVID-19 vaccination required)
We are seeking a Finance Business Analyst for our client in Ottawa to support the planning of a digital transformation initiative.
This role will be instrumental in gathering business requirements, analyzing current processes, and helping develop a business case and roadmap for future ERP implementation.
The ideal candidate brings experience in finance-related functions, has strong analytical and communication skills, and thrives in fast-paced, change‑driven environments.
Responsibilities
• Analyze business processes to understand operational needs, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with various teams (Finance, HR, Supply Chain, etc.) to support transformation planning activities
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather business requirements and contribute to system planning and solution design
• Assist with the testing and validation of ERP configurations and integrations, ensuring accuracy, usability, and regulatory compliance
• Support change management initiatives through training, user guides, and explicit process documentation
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of key processes and systems to support governance, compliance, and audit requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance function or business systems role within a complex organization
• Experience supporting ERP initiatives, digital transformation projects, or business systems planning within finance functions
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, internal control frameworks, and financial operations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across departments
• Proficient in analyzing data, writing clear documentation, and facilitating process improvements
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity with minimal supervision and balancing competing priorities under tight deadlines
Education
• Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Working towards or completion of a CPA designation or MBA is considered an asset
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required as this is a hybrid position.
