Summary
Our client is a leader in turbo blowers and control systems for industrial applications and they are seeking to hire a Mechanical Design Team Lead in Blainville (onsite).
The Mechanical Design Team Leader is responsible for supporting sales and project management functions through the development and maintenance of high-quality, project-specific mechanical drawings. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, and continuous improvement to drive efficient product design and manufacturing outcomes.
Requirements
• 5+ years as a Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineer in manufacturing
• In-depth experience with engineering processes and procedures
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Working knowledge of ISO and ANSI standards
• Strong English with basic functional French
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain detailed mechanical and technical drawings for new and existing products
• Optimize designs to achieve cost efficiency and reduced lead times
• Incorporate customer feedback and performance data to enhance product quality
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges and support prototyping efforts
• Manage drawing libraries, ensuring accuracy, version control, and traceability
• Support retrofit and ongoing engineering projects
• Coordinate cross-functionally with sales and documentation teams
• Lead, supervise, and allocate work within the design team to meet project priorities
• Contribute to process improvements, team performance reviews, and R&D tracking activities
