About this role

HR Advisor/Generalist II Location: Calgary, AB Type: Contract Duration: One year with potential of extension Rate of Pay: $52/hr Introduction: Brunel is currently seeking an HR Advisor/Generalist II to support business strategy execution and delivery by leveraging common HR processes and developing efficient and effective HR interventions. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure compliance, resolve employee relations matters, and promote an inclusive and effective workplace. Responsibilities: • Responsible for interpreting and ensuring compliance to HR policies, company processes, and relevant employment laws. • Partners with management on employee/labor relations and conducts internal investigations as assigned by HR management. • Partners with all levels of management and employees to communicate various HR objectives and procedures in compliance with company policy and employment law. • Acts as a first point of contact for line managers and provides support in regards to employee/labor relations issues, inquiries and complaints. • Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position. • Supports business strategy execution and delivery by leveraging common HR processes and developing efficient and effective HR interventions. • Identifies people implications of business strategies and decisions and advises clients on solutions. • Builds client relationships, reputation and establishes rapport. • Delivers efficient and effective HR services (Performance Assessment and Development Process (PADP), Staffing and Development (S&D), Case Management, policy interpretation), leveraging subject matter experts as necessary. • Manages and resolves people related issues. • Analyzes trends and metrics; identifies business and people challenges, considers options, makes recommendations and stewards implementation; delivers on agreed HR action plans. • Promotes leadership, management and supervisory effectiveness. • Promotes diversity and inclusion through HR processes and initiatives to ensure various ideas, background and perspectives are respected and valued. • Ensures compliance with internal & external HR license to operate requirements. • Identifies, implements, or leads improvements to HR processes. • Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position. Qualifications: • 8–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources and staffing. • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field. • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
