About this role

Responsibilities Own and manage end-to-end payroll, contractor payments, and benefits administration across the U.S. and Canada Design and implement structured onboarding and offboarding processes (offer letters, compliance documentation, I-9s, etc.) Ensure ongoing compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions Support recruiting operations by managing the ATS (Ashby), coordinating interview pipelines, and partnering with external recruiters Build, document, and enforce HR policies, processes, and SOPs to support scaling from ~40 employees Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Talent Operations, ideally within a startup or high-growth environment Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment laws, payroll, and compliance requirements Experience setting up or improving HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, policies) from scratch Familiarity with ATS platforms (preferably Ashby) and hands-on recruiting coordination experience Self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to operate independently and bring structure to ambiguous environments Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
