The Role We're at an exciting inflection point at Cedar Planters, and this role is a big part of what gets us to the next level. We're looking for an Email & Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our team and take ownership of our lifecycle marketing program - helping us deepen relationships with our customers, drive meaningful revenue, and build a channel that scales with us as we grow. You'll lead strategy and execution across campaigns, automations, and the full customer journey, from first touch to long-term retention, across both our North American core markets and international audiences. This is a collaborative, high-ownership role where your ideas will be heard, your work will have real impact, and you'll be a key voice in shaping how we show up for our customers. You'll be equal parts strategist and executor, bringing structure and process to a growing program while staying hands-on and nimble. You'll manage one direct report and work closely with creative, content, and growth teams to bring campaigns to life. What You'll Own Own email/SMS as a revenue channel with accountability for channel-attributed revenue and % of total revenue Lead the full lifecycle marketing strategy across email and SMS, including campaign planning, segmentation, and performance optimization Build and manage automated flows and triggered journeys (welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, win back, and more) that drive measurable impact, and diagnose and rebuild underperforming flows Map and continuously improve the customer journey to maximize engagement, conversion, and LTV across segments Build advanced segments using behavioural triggers, predictive analytics (CLV, churn risk, predicted next order date) and engagement tiers Manage list health and sender reputation – sunset flows, engagement-based suppression, deliverability monitoring Own campaign calendar planning and execution - from creative briefing through deployment and analysis Develop and maintain a structured testing roadmap (subject lines, content, send cadence, segmentation) to consistently improve performance Create and document scalable processes, templates, and frameworks to bring structure to a growing program Manage and mentor one direct report, supporting their growth and day-to-day output Report on program performance with clear metrics and actionable insights; communicate results and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders Adapt quickly as priorities shift — this is a fast-moving environment, and you'll need to pivot without losing momentum What We're Looking For 5+ years of email and lifecycle marketing experience at a DTC / B2C e-commerce brand Proven track record owning a lifecycle program at scale: campaigns, flows, segmentation, and customer journey strategy Expert-level Klaviyo experience Experience with SMS marketing as part of a lifecycle or owned marketing program Proficiency in Canva or similar creative editing tools for building and editing email and marketing assets People management experience: you've led or mentored someone and know how to develop talent A builder's mindset: you know how to create structure, document process, and establish best practices from the ground up Highly analytical - you let data drive decisions and can translate performance metrics into clear recommendations Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment Excellent written communication - you understand what makes lifecycle copy convert and can provide clear creative direction Nice to Haves • Experience with full-funnel content marketing strategy • Experience marketing to international audiences • Experience with A/B testing tools and a strong understanding of experimentation methodology • Background in home, garden, or lifestyle verticals Why Cedar Planters High ownership, high impact - you'll have real scope to build and shape this program A collaborative team that moves fast and values your expertise Competitive compensation and benefits Room to grow as the company scales
