Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with a strong background in IBM Datastage to join our dynamic team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software development, particularly in data integration and ETL processes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and applications that support our business objectives.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using IBM Datastage.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Maintain and enhance existing data integration solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and workflows for future reference.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to data integration and software development.
Mandatory Skills
• Strong expertise in IBM Datastage, including job design, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in SQL for database management and data manipulation.
• Experience working in a Linux environment, including shell scripting and command line tools.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with other ETL tools and data integration technologies.
• Experience with cloud based data solutions and services.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 7 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data integration and ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
