Commercial Construction Electrician

About the Role Our client is a highly respected electrical contractor serving the Austin, Texas area, seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Electrician. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading blueprints, wiring schematics, and performing all aspects of electrical work according to code. You will work as part of a team to ensure safe and efficient installation of power, lighting, and control systems. Key Responsibilities Install and connect wiring, conduits, and other electrical components in commercial buildings. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues. Install and maintain lighting systems, power distribution panels, and control systems. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes in Texas . Perform regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment. Operate hand and power tools, including testers, meters, and drills. Work collaboratively with project managers, general contractors, and other trades. Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified electrician apprenticeship program is required. Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license or Master Electrician license. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician. Strong understanding of electrical theory and practices. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams. Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to stand, climb, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Must possess own basic tools.
