About the Role
Our client, a highly regarded firm specializing in Design-Build projects, is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead significant initiatives in Markham, Ontario . This role demands a comprehensive understanding of both design and construction phases, ensuring seamless integration and successful project delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial client engagement and conceptualization through to final completion and handover. This is a key leadership position requiring exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of Design-Build contracts within the Markham region.
Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of Design-Build construction projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives. Lead and coordinate design teams, consultants, and construction crews throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying and mitigating risks. Oversee procurement, contract administration, and subcontractor management. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and fostering strong relationships. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and contractual obligations in Ontario . Conduct regular site inspections and project reviews to monitor progress and address issues proactively. Manage project close-out activities, including final inspections, documentation handover, and warranty management. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant portion dedicated to Design-Build projects. Proven success in managing complex commercial or institutional construction projects. Strong understanding of design processes, construction methodologies, and contract law applicable to Design-Build. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore) and financial management tools. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and complex project dynamics. Experience working within the Ontario construction environment. Benefits
