Overview
Senior Engineer- Guidewire ClaimCenter (Contract)
Number of positions: 1, 6-month initial contract with potential extension
Location: anywhere in Canada; if close to an office of the client, 2d/w onsite
Must be eligible work in Canada
Responsibilities
• Looking to hire a Senior developer with robust Guidewire ClaimCenter. Operating within a Guidewire Cloud (Mammoth version) setting, you will develop, implement, and maintain a complex ecosystem of business applications. Agile framework experience is a must.
• Design & Development: Lead the design and development of complex application features, acting as the technical lead for medium-to-large initiatives.
• Solution Architecture: Collaborate with solution analysts and business stakeholders to produce technical designs that align with enterprise standards.
• SDLC Ownership: Manage the software development process from user story decomposition and requirement review through to final delivery.
• Code Quality: Conduct peer code and design reviews, providing coaching to junior team members to maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Integration & Configuration: Develop and configure software within existing enterprise platforms, managing dependencies across integrated systems and data.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure robust delivery through the creation and execution of automated tests and the enhancement of existing testing frameworks.
Qualifications
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Guidewire application development specifically on the Guidewire platform, with a focus on ClaimCenter.
• Cloud Proficiency: Experience with Guidewire Cloud is highly preferred; being Guidewire Certified (Associate or ACE) is a significant asset.
• Technical Stack: Robust skills in GOSU, web services, and database management. Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira, and Confluence is an asset.
• Industry Knowledge: Previous experience within the Insurance industry is a major plus.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to foster teamwork, excellent analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Education
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Software Development or a related field.
