Note: Must be eligible to travel within both the U.S. and Canada and able to acquire clearances. Job Title: Project Manager II Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada-L6C 0M1 (On-site) - Duration: 12 Months Work Schedule • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM • Additional hours may be required based on project needs • Up to 20% travel to customer sites across North America Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II to lead complex utility and grid automation projects from contract award through warranty completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, customer satisfaction, and financial performance while coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Manage project execution from contract award through warranty completion. • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during project execution. • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management activities. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. • Maintain accurate financial forecasting, including sales, cash flow, and project margins. • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, contract administration, and other support teams. • Prepare and present regular project status reports and project reviews. • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication. • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies. • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence. • Assist commercial teams during pre-contract activities by providing project execution insights and cost optimization recommendations. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. • Minimum 5 years of experience in electricity grid engineering and/or project management. • Experience managing customer-facing projects within the utility or power industry. • Ability to travel up to 20% throughout North America. • Strong project planning, execution, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications • Project management experience within the utility or electricity sector. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering. • PMP Certification preferred. • Experience managing projects involving: • Electrical Transmission & Distribution • Digital Substations • Protection & Control Systems • Industrial Power Systems • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices. • Strong financial management and forecasting experience. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities. • Experience working in multicultural or global project environments. • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
