Take on the role of Mechanical Design Engineer with Vancouver City, specializing in fleet engineering and asset management. Contribute to vehicle outfitting, safety, and compliance initiatives in this key position. In this full-time role, you will engage in project management and technical design practices to support municipal vehicle acquisition and modification.
The position requires a blend of engineering design, maintenance program development, and failure analysis to ensure operational success. Ideal candidates will have a passion for mobile equipment and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
• Create mechanical designs for fleet vehicles and equipment
• Utilize 3D CAD for effective outfitting designs
• Assess compliance of modification requests with standards
• Coordinate preventative maintenance for service-ready equipment
• Serve as Engineer of Record for various projects Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years of related engineering experience
• Eligibility for P. Eng. or P.L.Eng. registration
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and CAD software
• Hold valid class 5 BC Driver’s License Enhance fleet operations in a diverse and inclusive environment at Vancouver City.
