About this role
Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager on behalf of a federal government client in Ottawa.
The successful consultant will lead complex strategic projects, manage delivery across multiple business and technical stakeholders, and ensure projects are completed within approved scope, schedule and budget. This is a hybrid contract requiring regular onsite presence in Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver complex projects from initiation through completion.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Ensure delivery aligns with established PMO standards, governance requirements and organizational priorities.
• Apply Agile, waterfall and hybrid project-management methodologies as appropriate.
• Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, vendors and third-party consultants.
• Develop project plans, executive dashboards, status reports, RAID logs and decision materials.
• Communicate project priorities, progress, risks and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Facilitate governance meetings, working sessions and stakeholder discussions.
• Manage project budgets and support procurement and vendor-management activities.
• Translate technical and operational information into clear business language.
• Support organizational change-management and implementation-readiness activities.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen project-management practices and improve delivery maturity.
• Maintain appropriate security, confidentiality and information-safeguarding practices.
Qualifications
• University degree or college diploma in project management, business, technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive project-management experience.
• Current PMP certification.
• Agile or Scrum certification with practical delivery experience.
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading complex strategic initiatives.
• Strong experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, risks and vendors.
• Experience with budgeting, procurement, operations, organizational change management and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online, Teams and Exchange Online.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project and Visio.
• Demonstrated experience working within an enterprise PMO or formal governance environment.
• Excellent written communication, executive reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience working with government, Crown corporations or highly regulated organizations is an asset.
• English/French bilingualism is an asset.
Contract Details
• Location: Ottawa, Ontario
• Work arrangement: Hybrid, requiring approximately 3–5 days onsite per week based on project requirements
• Expected start: August 15, 2026
• Initial term: Until December 31, 2026
• Estimated commitment: 600–700 hours
• Weekly effort: Approximately 37.5 hours
• Extensions: Up to three additional six-month extensions
• Contract rate: $50.00–$60.00 per hour
• Engagement type: Business-to-business contract through an incorporated entity
• Security: The selected consultant must be eligible to obtain the client’s required Secret-level security clearance
