About the Role Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely from anywhere in the US . We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented engineer who excels in a remote setting and possesses a passion for elegant design solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design and development of new consumer electronic products from concept to mass production. Utilize advanced 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) for designing complex assemblies, enclosures, and internal mechanisms. Conduct thorough analysis, including thermal management, structural integrity, and vibration studies, using simulation tools. Specify materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, CNC machining) appropriate for high-volume production. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, industrial design, firmware, and operations, in a virtual setting. Develop and execute rigorous testing plans to validate design performance, reliability, and durability. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Troubleshoot design issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in consumer electronics and mechanical design. Requirements Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for consumer electronics or similar high-volume products. Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software and PDM/PLM systems. Strong experience with simulation and analysis tools (FEA, CFD) for stress, thermal, and vibration analysis. In-depth knowledge of materials science, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, and other relevant manufacturing processes. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective virtual collaboration.
