This role requires expertise in psychiatric assessments and crisis interventions within a community mental health unit. The RN/RPN will utilize approaches like Collaborative Problem Solving and Trauma Informed Care to support youth in managing their mental health challenges. You will have the opportunity to engage in group facilitation and provide individual support as a crucial team member.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and support youth experiencing mental health crises
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary mental health team
• Facilitate group discussions and individual sessions
• Advocate for patient-centered care and health promotion
• Maintain safety and well-being of patients during care
Requirements:
• Accredited nursing education program completion
• Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
• 1-3 years of psychiatric experience in acute care
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
• Mental health experience in community or inpatient settings
