Family Office Senior Accountant
About the Role
We are a private, multi-entity family office located in Midtown Toronto, seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Family Office Senior Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a diverse portfolio of corporate entities, trusts, and investments.
This is a highly visible role working closely with ownership and the VP Finance, offering exposure to a broad range of business interests, including private investments in Real Estate, technology, hedge funds, and a charitable foundation. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable balancing both operational accounting and higher-level financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting
• Maintain full-cycle accounting for multiple entities (corporations and trusts) using QuickBooks
• Record all transactions, including multi-currency and investment activity
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Post journal entries, accruals, and year-end adjustments
Investments & Multi-Entity Tracking
• Record and track investment transactions (stocks, bonds, partnerships, and other investments)
• Account for foreign exchange transactions and USD activity
• Monitor intercompany transactions and balances
Cash Management & Payments
• Manage day-to-day cash flow and bank accounts
• Prepare and process payments (cheques and wire transfers)
• Maintain proper documentation and approvals for all disbursements
Accounts Payable & Administration
• Process invoices and maintain organized records and supporting documentation
• Ensure all payments are properly recorded and supported
• Handle administrative and ad hoc financial tasks as needed
Year-End & Tax Support
• Prepare year-end working papers and reconciliations
• Coordinate with external accountants for corporate, trust, and personal tax filings
• Compile required documentation and respond to queries from advisors
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven experience in full-cycle accounting in a multi-entity or family office environment
• Strong bookkeeping foundation with ability to handle complex transactions
• Experience with investment accounting and multi-currency transactions
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong Excel skills

Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
