Shape public policy and engage with governments as the Director of Government Relations for Toronto Hydro. This hybrid role focuses on building strategic partnerships and influencing key regulatory frameworks. The Director will lead government relations efforts at municipal, provincial, and federal levels, collaborating closely with senior leadership.
Your role involves developing trusted relationships with government bodies and stakeholders to advance Toronto Hydro’s strategic initiatives. Manage risk, influence policy, and mentor a high-performing team in navigating the dynamic energy sector landscape. Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with City of Toronto officials and benefits agencies
• Foster connections with federal and provincial government leaders
• Lead Toronto Hydro’s representation in regulatory industry forums
• Design impactful policy advocacy strategies aligned with corporate objectives
• Develop reports translating government activities into actionable insights Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or related field
• 10-15 years in government relations or public policy
• 5+ years in leadership roles
• Knowledge of municipal and energy regulations
