About the position
We are seeking a seasoned GLOSS Business Analyst / SME to join our capital markets technology team on either a contract or full-time basis. This role is critical to supporting clearance and settlement operations, trade life cycle event processing, and accounting functions within the GLOSS platform. You will serve as the go-to subject matter expert, bridging business requirements and technology delivery across our hybrid work environment with presence in Toronto, Montréal, New York, or New Jersey.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary SME for the GLOSS platform, providing expert guidance on configuration, functional design, and issue resolution
• Support end-to-end trade life cycle event processing including trade capture, confirmation, clearance, settlement, and corporate actions
• Document and analyze trade life cycle workflows, identifying gaps and opportunities for process improvement
• Work with technology and operations teams to design, test, and validate GLOSS-based solutions
• Provide deep expertise in clearance and settlement processes across asset classes within capital markets
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate trade life cycle event accounting treatment
• Define and review functional specifications for accounting entries, reconciliation, and exception management
• Support the investigation and resolution of settlement breaks, fails, and accounting discrepancies
• Elicit, document, and validate business requirements from front office, operations, finance, and technology stakeholders
• Produce high-quality functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and test plans
• Facilitate UAT and support business sign-off for GLOSS-related enhancements and implementations
• Act as a liaison between business and technology teams throughout the project delivery lifecycle
Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the GLOSS platform in a capital markets environment
• Strong knowledge of trade life cycle events: trade capture, affirmation, clearance, settlement, and fails management
• Solid understanding of securities settlement accounting, including journal entry design and reconciliation
• Proven ability to document complex business processes and write clear functional specifications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
• Eligibility to work in Canada and/or the United States
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with fixed income, equities, or derivatives products is an asset
