Business Analyst - Hotel Vendor Replacement Program
• Pay Rate: $66.72/hour, depending on experience
• Contract Length: 8 Months
• Location: Calgary, Alberta
• Work Model: On-site daily (with flexibility reviewed as project milestones are met)
Raise is currently hiring a Business Analyst - Hotel Vendor Replacement Program on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Business Analyst in this role will join our clients Hotel Vendor Replacement Program team. In this role, you will bring extensive experience supporting technical implementations across various integrated systems. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors, you will help develop effective solutions, processes, requirements, and technical documentation. This role demands strong analytical abilities, a deep understanding of business processes, and a proven history of delivering technology-driven solutions that enhance data workflows and reporting functions.
Accountabilities
• Scope & Requirement Management
• Determine and align project scope and objectives based on direction from the Program Manager and Sponsor.
• Gather and evaluate needs from subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand the current state and develop the future state.
• Collect, discuss, understand, and formally document business requirements.
• Translate assumptions, risks, and business requirements into clear technical designs and process documentation.
• Process Mapping & Workflow Design
• Map existing processes and design/map new future-state processes.
• Collaborate with agile development teams to deliver working, scalable solutions.
• Project & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Support the Project Manager in developing project plans, monitoring progress, managing risks/issues, and preparing regular summary reports.
• Lead calls with business, technology, and vendor stakeholder teams to effectively deliver on project outcomes.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to proactively identify and clear project bottlenecks.
• Support application/systems testing, upgrades, performance tuning, and other operational needs.
• Handle ad-hoc requests as required to assist with hands-on project delivery.
• Key Deliverables
• In collaboration with key business stakeholders and the vendor, you will be responsible for:
• Current State Mapping: Ensure current processes under the previous hotel vendor integration are fully mapped and documented.
• Future State Mapping: Ensure new processes under the incoming hotel vendor integration are mapped and documented.
• Process Documentation: Create a comprehensive process repository to reflect the operating model under the new vendor integration.
• Business Requirements: Own the Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and translate them into actionable technical designs.
• UAT/Testing Support: Prepare for hand-off to the QA Lead for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), creating a documented foundation that supports test case builds.
• Project Execution Support: Provide agile support, including systems testing, upgrades, performance checks, and operational tasks up to project execution.
Qualifications
• (5) years of experience in a Business Analyst role managing technology projects and driving change management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead requirements-gathering workshops and collaborate effectively with stakeholders (both in-person and remote).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent requirements-gathering skills, with a proven ability to capture complex business processes via documentation and staff walkthroughs.
• Strong computer literacy, including advanced working skills in Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Nice-to-Haves
• Previous airline or aviation industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with experience working directly within an Agile development environment.
• A strong knowledge of and passion for modern computer systems and the latest technologies.
• Soft Skills
• Proven ability to think outside the box and solve problems creatively.
• Highly motivated individual who can manage their own day-to-day activities to drive desired project results.
• Education and Certifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Secondary Diploma in related field
• Certifications: IIBA (CBAP/CCBA) or CAPM certification is considered a strong asset
