Senior Financial Analyst – Funding (Contract)Location: Midtown TorontoIndustry: Not-for-profit, community services, social impact, education, healthcare, or other publicly funded service environmentsDuration: 3-month contract (potential for extension or permanent)Work Model: Hybrid, only 1 day onsite required.Our client, a well-established organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team on a contract basis. This role will support a high-volume, funding-focused portfolio and is ideal for someone who brings strong financial reporting, reconciliations, and fund accounting experience in a complex, multi-program environment. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders and finance management to ensure funding is tracked, reported, and reconciled accurately, while also supporting budgeting, forecasting, audits, and program-level financial analysis.Responsibilities· Prepare reporting tied to funding agreements, grants, subsidies, and other external funding arrangements· Reconcile funding activity across multiple programs, service lines, or regions to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with external requirements· Review funding agreements and related guidelines to support accurate financial treatment, reporting, and budget alignment· Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and funding submissions for programs and new initiatives· Support month-end activities, including journal support, reconciliations, financial review, and variance analysis· Reconcile key balance sheet and revenue-related accounts, including receivables, deferred revenue, and other funding-related balances· Analyze program financial performance and provide reporting insights to support decision-making by senior leaders· Contribute to business cases, financial modelling, and viability assessments for new or expanding programs· Support external audit requirements by preparing schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor requests· Assist with program-level audit readiness, including preparation of financial backup and supporting files· Recommend improvements to processes, controls, and reporting practices to strengthen accuracy and efficiency· Collaborate effectively with finance leadership and operational stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment
