We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst 1 – Data & Analytics to join our team at our head office located in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing Nissan Canada’s vehicle profitability insights by combining financial analysis with data science techniques. This role supports COP/CMP-I analytics, forecasting, and decision-making through advanced modeling, automation, and data-driven insights, enabling more predictive and actionable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Own and enhance COP (Consolidated Operating Profit) & CMP-I (Consolidated Marginal Profit minus Incentives) analytics through data-driven models and automated reporting
• Develop and maintain advanced analytical tools and dashboards to track product profitability trends (monthly & quarterly), leveraging Power BI, Python, or similar tools
• Perform predictive and diagnostic analytics (trend analysis, variance decomposition, scenario modeling) to identify key drivers of profitability
• Support cross-functional teams by translating complex data into clear, actionable business insights, including pricing strategy and incentive effectiveness
• Contribute to pricing and new model analysis, integrating financial modeling with market, sales, and incentive data to optimize CMP-I outcomes
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes by incorporating data models (e.g., regression, sensitivity analysis) into CMP-I and COP projections
• Drive automation and process improvements, reducing manual effort and increasing data accuracy and consistency
• Partner with IT and business teams to improve data availability, data quality, and governance across financial and operational datasets
• Support MTP and C&I initiatives using scenario simulations and advanced analytics to validate financial impacts
Requirements
• 2–3 years of experience in finance, analytics, business intelligence, or data science-related roles
• 4 year University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or other
• Strong foundation in financial analysis, forecasting, and business planning, combined with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced technical skills: Excel (advanced modeling) - mandatory
• Power BI (dashboarding & visualization) - mandatory
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or other data analytics tools is strongly preferred
• Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Hyperion, or similar) and large datasets
• Ability to apply data science techniques (trend modeling, scenario analysis, basic predictive analytics) in a business context
• Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in Canada and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.
