About this role

Transform the future of urban transit as a Mechanical Engineering Specialist with the TTC, focusing on rail vehicle innovations. This hybrid position combines design, evaluation, and engineering solutions to enhance safety and reliability of the fleet. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Manager of LRV Engineering. Your responsibilities include designing and testing mechanical and electrical components used in revenue and non-revenue rail vehicles. Your technical solutions will significantly impact operational efficiency while adhering to TTC standards. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct original design and reverse engineering for improvements • Test and evaluate new systems for safety and reliability • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend designs • Develop specifications and detailed drawings for projects • Ensure compliance with both safety and efficiency standards Requirements: • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Professional Engineer registration in Ontario required • Expertise in drafting and analysis, knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics • Experience with Solidworks and GD&T standards • Valid driver’s license and ability to visit off-site locations Bring your passion for engineering to the TTC and contribute to the advancement of transit vehicles.
