About the position
HUB International is seeking a motivated and client-focused Account Executive to join our Commercial Lines team in Ontario. This role is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of mid-market commercial clients by delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in business development and a solid understanding of commercial insurance products. As part of a collaborative team environment, you will work closely with account managers, technical specialists, and carrier partners to support both new business growth and client retention.
Responsibilities
• Prospect, develop, and close new mid-market commercial accounts.
• Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Identify opportunities to provide comprehensive, multi-line insurance solutions including property, liability, automobile, cyber, and other specialty coverages.
• Develop referral sources and maintain strong professional networks within the Ontario business community.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
• Act as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, providing strategic guidance on risk management and insurance program design.
• Participate in renewal planning, coverage reviews, and client strategy discussions alongside service teams.
• Stay informed on market conditions, underwriting trends, and regulatory developments affecting Ontario businesses.
• Support long-term client retention through proactive engagement and responsive service.
• Maintain productive relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
• Negotiate terms and structure competitive solutions to meet client needs.
• Represent HUB in the marketplace through networking and industry involvement.
Requirements
• 5+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong focus on new business development and relationship management.
• RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly
• Proven success building a profitable mid-market book of business within Ontario’s commercial sector.
• Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages and underwriting principles across diverse industries.
• Established market presence and network of referral partners.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.
