The Blueprint
The Corporate Accountant, Asset Management Accounting plays an integral role in financial reporting and statutory compliance across Tridel’s Group of Companies This role will help drive standardization and improvement in the financial reporting over the group, including controls over financial reporting.
A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities
• Preparation of financial statements and year-end accounting files for corporate entities and subsidiary, holding, and parent companies within Tridel Group of Companies
• Monthly review of trial balances, bank reconciliations and HST filings
• Liaise with the corporate tax team in the administration of tax-related items including recording tax provisions, determining corporate tax instalments, declaring distributions, preparation of annual T5s and executing tax plans/reorganizations for all applicable entities under Asset Management.
• Preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reports for BOLT Charitable Foundation.
• Drive improvements to accounting and financial reporting processes within the Asset Management Accounting Team.
• Manage cost allocations and cross-charges between Tridel Corporation and the operating companies (e.g., rent, overhead, insurance, IT, and HR shared services).
• Serve as the backup for the Accountant with respect to the bookkeeping function (including but not limited to AR, AP, bank reconciliations, journal entries and HST filings)
• Monitor cash balances for the Tridel Group of Companies on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to facilitate consolidated cash reporting and cash management for the Parent and Subsidiary companies.
• Liaise between operating entities and Asset Management Accounting Team to complete month-end processes, including account reconciliation and cash/profit distributions.
• Preparation of daily cash flow reporting for the executive team’s cash planning and cash management.
• Prepare and update monthly cash flow forecasts for Tridel’s parent and subsidiary companies to assist the Executive Team in cash planning and making informed decisions on the existing and projected cash inflows/outflows of the business.
• Assist with ERP transition/implementation
• Assist with preparation of the annual budget for Tridel and preparation of monthly budget vs. actual analysis.
• Assist with preparation of quarterly operating company performance/KPI dashboards to present to Senior Leadership and Executive teams
• Assist with administration of the records retention policy and legal document filing for the Tridel Group of Companies.
• Compile required financial information for the annual insurance renewal
• Assist the Director of Accounting, VP-Asset Management, CFO-Asset Management, and SVP of Tax in ad-hoc requests and special projects as needed.
