ServiceNow Consultant , contract position
Number of positions; 1, 12-month contract to start
Location: Toronto, ON
Hybrid and primarily remote, occasional in-office visit as needed

Roles and responsibilities:
This role is to perform as a ServiceNow Developer / Architect. In this dual-capacity role, you will not only design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and workflows to meet current business needs, but also serve as a strategic advisor. You will analyze our existing environment and provide high-level recommendations on how to best utilize and optimize the ServiceNow platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Architecture & Strategy: Assess the current ServiceNow environment and provide strategic recommendations on platform utilization and best practices.
• Development & Configuration: Design, implement, and maintain custom ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, UI policies, business rules, and client scripts.
• Integration: Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Resolve complex technical issues related to platform performance and functionality.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into scalable technical solutions, and provide end-user guidance.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure all solutions strictly adhere to ITIL principles as well as internal governance, risk, security, and compliance frameworks.
Must have skills/experience/qualifications:
• Platform Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, with exposure to architectural/platform design.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, ServiceNow APIs, Flow Designer, Studio IDE, Update Sets, and Service Portal development.
• Core Modules: Deep understanding of CMDB, ACLs, platform security, and experience with modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, or CSM.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory for stakeholder management and strategic advisory components.
• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with IntegrationHub and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps methodologies, and advanced scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and a growth mindset.
