KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Ownership & Roadmap:
• Own the Murex product backlog: define, prioritize, and maintain epics and user stories aligned
to business value and strategic roadmap objectives.
• Translate front office, risk, finance, and operations requirements into structured, deliverable
product increments.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning in collaboration with technology
delivery teams.
• Drive continuous platform improvement through gap analysis, business process review, and
stakeholder engagement.
Business Analysis & Requirements
• Conduct detailed requirements elicitation with capital markets stakeholders across trading
desks (rates, FX, credit, equities), risk management, collateral, settlements, and finance.
• Produce high-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications,
process flows, and data mapping artefacts.
• Analyze current-state Murex configurations and workflows to identify optimization and re-
engineering opportunities.
• Define and validate acceptance criteria; lead UAT planning, execution, and sign-off
coordination.
Integration & Technical Delivery
• Own the functional design and oversight of Murex integrations across downstream and
upstream enterprise systems including risk engines, data warehouses, regulatory reporting
platforms, collateral management systems, and core banking infrastructure.
• Collaborate with integration architects and developers on MxML, STP workflows, connectivity
frameworks (FIX, SWIFT, internal APIs), and messaging layer design.
• Define data flows, transformation rules, and reconciliation logic across the front-to-back trade
lifecycle.
• Support environment strategy across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD — including release
coordination and regression planning.
Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the primary point of escalation and communication between business stakeholders,
IT delivery teams, and Murex vendor support.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Managing Directors, Heads of Trading,
CRO/CFO-aligned functions, and technology leadership.
• Present roadmap updates, project status, and platform decisions to senior governance forums
and steering committees.
• Negotiate priorities and scope across competing stakeholder demands; manage expectations
with clarity and credibility.
Governance & Risk
• Ensure all platform changes adhere to change management, model risk governance, and
technology risk frameworks.
• Support regulatory and audit requirements including trade reporting, FRTB readiness, EMIR,
and CSA/ISDA documentation workflows.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation to institutional standards; ensure knowledge transfer
and team capability development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Murex & Capital Markets Experience
• 8+ years of hands-on Murex experience in a business analyst, product owner, or functional
lead capacity at a financial institution or major consultancy.
• Deep functional knowledge across Murex modules: MLC, Trade Repository, Mark-to-Market,
Limits & Risk, Collateral Management, Settlement, and Accounting.
• Strong understanding of front-to-back capital markets trade lifecycle across multiple asset
classes (rates, FX, credit, equities, derivatives).
• Experience with Murex upgrades, migrations, or greenfield implementations in complex
enterprise environments.
Integration & Technical Skills
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering Murex integrations with external platforms
— risk systems, data lakes, regulatory engines, ERP, and market data providers.
• Working knowledge of MxML, STP workflows, FIX protocol, and API-based connectivity
patterns.
• Familiarity with data modelling, SQL, and structured query capabilities sufficient for data
validation and root cause analysis.
• Exposure to Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies; experience with JIRA, Confluence, or
equivalent tooling.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior business and technology stakeholders in a
large, matrixed organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce executive-ready
documentation and facilitate cross-functional workshops.
• Demonstrated experience managing delivery through ambiguity, competing priorities, and
organizational complexity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience within one of Canadas major banks or a Tier 1 global financial institution.
• Exposure to Canadian regulatory frameworks (OSFI, CIRO) and trade reporting obligations.
• Murex certification or formal Murex training program completion.
• Familiarity with FRTB, SA-CCR, or XVA computation workflows within Murex.
• Background in scaled Agile delivery (SAFe, LeSS) within a capital markets technology
program.
