Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of software development experience • 1+ year of Python experience • 5+ years working in Linux/Unix environments • Experience using version control tools (Git, GitHub, or GitLab) • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Must be authorized to work in Canada Nice to Have Skills & Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field • Experience working in Agile environments • Background in airline operations, crew planning, or optimization • Relational databases and data modeling • Test-driven development tools (Gherkin, Behave, Pytest) • Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) • Linux system administration and shell scripting • Kubernetes, virtual machines, and enterprise integrations • Functional programming concepts Job Description: A client of Insight Global is seeking a Software Application Developer to join their Implementation team. This is a customer-facing role supporting the configuration and delivery of workforce and crew planning software for airline clients. This position combines hands-on technical development with client interaction, offering exposure to the aviation industry. Key Responsibilities: • Partner directly with customers to gather requirements and understand business objectives • Configure and customize crew planning and operations software using Python and a proprietary rule-based language • Translate business needs into technical solutions and clearly communicate design decisions • Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing expectations • Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and delivery efficiency • Develop and execute automated test cases using a test-driven development approach Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 CAD annually Benefits: • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with employer paid health premiums for employees and dependents • Employer paid life and AD&D insurance • A health care spending account • Short and long term disability insurance • Virtual health • Fitness reimbursement program • DPSP and RRSP retirement plans • 3 weeks of PTO for new hires • Employee Assistance Program • 2 days off to volunteer annually (effective in 2026) • Employee referral program (effective in 2026) • Flight rewards and flight stipend (effective in 2026)
