About this role
About the Role
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, seeking talented, passionate professionals dedicated to clients. At CIBC, your strengths and ambitions are embraced, empowering you to make a meaningful impact and be valued for your contributions. The Private Wealth Senior Learning Strategy Consultant manages the initiation, execution, and facilitation of Private Wealth Advisory Programmes, providing coaching support to participants.
This role focuses on onboarding new hires and increasing the skill sets of Advisors, Associates, and Assistants across Private Banking, Wood Gundy, CIBC Private Investment Counsel, Wealth Planning, and the Insurance, Trust, and Estate Planning teams to improve effectiveness and efficiency. You will also lead or support the implementation of new training initiatives aligned with business goals and assist with conferences and training requests, potentially partnering with Practice Management.
CIBC offers a hybrid work arrangement where you will spend one to three days per week on-site, with other days remote. The expected annualised base salary range for this role is $92,490 to $127,200. Compensation also includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus programme.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide leadership against business priorities, ensuring requirements are understood and implemented as expected. This includes supporting a National onboarding training programme to aid talent acquisition across Canada and delivering training programmes for Private Wealth teams, such as Wealth Advisors and Associates, to reinforce client relationship deepening and market share growth. You will be accountable for the timely implementation, delivery, evaluation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of Advisory Programmes in line with evolving business needs and regulatory changes.
Your role involves facilitating Advisory Programmes and offering individualised learning support to participants. You will assist learners and their leaders with programme expectations, curriculum, progress, and coaching, providing in-person, virtual, conference call, and synchronous training to new and existing Private Wealth learners. Proactively, you will identify opportunities for programme enhancements, propose and implement plans for these changes, and stay current on CIRO regulations, industry shifts, and other educational requirements.
You will lead or participate in firm strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects as required for the Advisory Programmes. Your skills in facilitating and managing training programmes will be essential for various projects, collaborating with Practice Management and other Training & Development teams to explore innovative content delivery methods. This role emphasises your ability to prioritise effectively, both strategically and operationally. You will operate with considerable independence to identify priorities and address policy and programme implementation and customisation requirements within a fast-paced environment and on complex projects involving internal and external partners and vendors, fostering strong relationships. Maintaining current knowledge of the industry, Brokerage, and Retail segments, along with business complexities, will require travelling within Canada.
What You'll Bring
You are a certified professional with an undergraduate degree in business or economics; an MBA is an asset. You have successfully obtained CFP, CIM, or CFA accreditation or possess equivalent work experience. You demonstrate a highly developed knowledge of the Private Banking and Wealth Management business, with eight to ten years of industry experience, providing awareness of business issues, processes, and outcomes as they impact Private Wealth Management and clients.
You embrace and advocate for change, continuously evolving your thinking and work methods through well-developed facilitation and presentation skills to deliver your best. Your influence makes a difference; you understand that relationships and networks are essential for success and inspire outcomes by sharing your expertise. You prioritise clients, engaging with purpose to find appropriate solutions and going the extra mile. Values matter to you; you bring your authentic self to work and live CIBC’s values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
