RaisaHR is conducting a search for a Finance & Accounting Manager on behalf of a Montreal-based non-profit organization that provides housing, shelter, and community support services to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
With multiple programs, funding sources, and community partnerships, the organization plays an important role in supporting vulnerable populations while managing a growing and complex operation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit processes while supervising a small accounting team.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a CPA who enjoys balancing day-to-day financial management with strategic planning and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and reconciliations
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
• Lead annual audits and strengthen internal controls
• Prepare financial reports and recommendations for senior leadership
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Support organizational decision-making through financial analysis
Qualifications
• CPA designation
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Strong financial reporting and budgeting experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems
• Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills
• Fluency in French and working proficiency in English
