About this role

About the Role Our client is at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation, leveraging cutting-edge machine learning techniques to accelerate drug discovery. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our entirely remote team, contributing to groundbreaking research from **Columbus, Ohio**, or any approved US location. This role is critical in developing predictive models and analytical tools that will guide the identification and optimization of novel drug candidates. You will work with vast datasets, collaborating with computational chemists, biologists, and medicinal chemists to translate complex biological and chemical data into insights. This is a remote-first position, emphasizing collaboration and impact regardless of physical location. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and validate machine learning models for various drug discovery applications (e.g., target identification, hit-to-lead optimization, ADMET prediction). Process and analyze large, diverse datasets, including omics data, chemical structures, and clinical trial results. Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate model performance. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define research problems and develop data-driven solutions. Communicate complex analytical findings and model behaviors to scientific and technical stakeholders. Contribute to the development of robust data pipelines and feature engineering strategies. Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cheminformatics. Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's technical growth. Document methodologies, results, and code thoroughly. Requirements Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 5 years of experience applying machine learning techniques to complex scientific problems, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras). Strong experience with data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SQL). Solid understanding of various machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, ensemble methods, and statistical modeling. Experience with cheminformatics toolkits (e.g., RDKit) and molecular representations is a strong plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment. Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies is advantageous. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility and autonomy. Benefits Our client offers a highly competitive salary and bonus structure, alongside a comprehensive benefits package. This includes excellent health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match, stock options, and a substantial budget for professional development, including conferences and training. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive remote work culture that prioritizes work-life balance and scientific innovation. Join a team that is revolutionizing drug discovery through data science and make a tangible impact on global health.
