Data Engineer – Dayforce Dayforce is a global workforce management, payroll, HR, and enterprise business software company headquartered in Canada. Its cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) platform supports businesses worldwide through advanced payroll, workforce analytics, AI-driven solutions, and enterprise-scale cloud technology. We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to help build, maintain, and optimise large-scale data systems that power payroll, HR, workforce management, analytics, and AI solutions across the Dayforce platform. Key Responsibilities • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data systems • Develop ETL/ELT workflows for cloud-based platforms and business applications • Design data warehouses and cloud storage solutions • Integrate HR, payroll, workforce, and analytics data sources • Optimise database performance, reliability, and data quality • Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and AI/ML teams • Support real-time reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions • Automate data workflows, monitoring, and orchestration processes • Ensure data security, governance, and compliance for sensitive employee information • Support AI and machine learning initiatives through structured and scalable datasets Data Engineers at Dayforce work extensively with cloud infrastructure, analytics platforms, and enterprise-scale data technologies. Skills & Requirements • Technical Skills • Strong SQL and database management skills • Experience with Python, Java, or Scala • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and workflow orchestration • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP • Understanding of data warehousing and analytics systems • Experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop • Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and CI/CD concepts • Understanding of data modelling and performance optimisation • Additional Technologies (Preferred) • Snowflake • Databricks • Kubernetes • Terraform • AI/ML data preparation and analytics infrastructure Qualifications • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field • Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or fintech environments preferred • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Work Environment • Data Engineers commonly work in: • Cloud and SaaS technology companies • Enterprise software and HCM platforms • AI and analytics engineering teams • Agile and DevOps-focused environments This role involves collaboration with global engineering, analytics, and product teams supporting enterprise-scale cloud applications.
