About the position
Calgary Economic Development (CED) is seeking a Specialist, Marketing to play a lead role in executing, optimizing, and evaluating integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives that advance the objectives of TalentED Greater Calgary. TalentED Greater Calgary is a strategic project focused on connecting youth to meaningful work-based learning opportunities. While this role is primarily focused on TalentED, it will also support broader CED marketing priorities. The Specialist, Marketing is responsible for executing multi-channel marketing initiatives including paid media campaigns, events, social channel content, and communications for internal and external audiences. This role acts as a key partner to internal stakeholders and external agencies, ensuring marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with organizational objectives. This is a full-time contract position with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
• Execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, web, paid media and event channels.
• Coordinate creative development with internal teams and external partners.
• Support campaign content creation and production and deployment across channels.
• Support audience targeting and channel recommendations alongside the Marketing Manager.
• Ensure all marketing initiatives align with organizational brand standards.
• Support the execution of CED marketing campaigns and initiatives as assigned.
• Contribute content development and campaign execution across CED-owned channels, including web, email and social media.
• Support website updates, email marketing initiatives and content management activities.
• Assist with campaign reporting and performance tracking for CED initiatives.
• Develop, write, and edit marketing collateral and content for digital and social media platforms, email campaigns, websites and landing pages, and marketing collateral and presentations.
• Develop and update marketing presentations to support internal and external audiences.
• Develop communications for internal and external audiences including but not limited to briefing documents, Key Messages, Board communications, reports, presentations, and newsletters.
• Manage and track project timelines and deliverables.
• Coordinate printing and production of marketing materials.
• Liaise with external agencies, sponsors, and vendors to support project execution and ensure deliverables are met.
• Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Web analytics reporting and insights to inform future marketing efforts.
• Develop and execute event briefs.
• Assist with CED & TalentED events, activations and promotional activities.
• Coordinate event promotion across digital, social, email and paid channels.
• Manage attendee communications and registration support.
• Coordinate event collateral, signage and promotional materials.
• Support event logistics and vendor coordination.
• Manage event-related marketing budgets and purchase orders as assigned.
• Support on-site event execution.
• Track event performance metrics and provide post-event reporting.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other relevant field.
• At least 4 to 6 years of technical experience in marketing, communications or other related industries.
• Experience executing integrated marketing campaigns.
• Experience managing paid media campaigns and agency relationships.
• Experience with digital marketing, email marketing and website content management.
• Event marketing and event management experience.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
• Experience with CRM and CMS platforms.
• Experience using Google Analytics (GA4), reporting tools and marketing dashboards.
• Strong copywriting and content development skills.
• Ability to analyze campaign performance and provide actionable recommendations.
• Experience working with vendors, agencies and external partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to actively listen and checks for understanding; able to deliver messages in a compelling manner.
• Strong writing and editing skills – the ability to write in clear and concise messages for various internal and external audiences.
