Kalemi Law Professional Corporation is a prominent law firm focused primarily on Real Estate Law. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate Lawyer with a minimum of 1-4 years experience to join our busy practice. We're looking for an associate who wants real responsibility, direct client relationships, and the room to advance — not just a seat at a desk.
Responsibilities
• Managing residential real estate transactions from start to finish, with files assigned to you directly — minimal hand-holding, real responsibility
• Review agreements of purchase and sale, new build contracts, status certificates, loan documents
• Draft specific transaction documents for purchase, sale and financing of residential property
• Reviewing title searches and handling requisition letters and responses
• Supervise and assist junior and senior law clerks handling high volume of residential and refinance, purchase and sale transactions
• Attend to in person and virtual meetings with clients to receive instructions, review documentation, have documents signed and report on status.
• Register instruments on Teraview
• Attend to and resolve potential issues
REQUIREMENTS
• 1–4 years at a real estate law firm (high-volume experience is a big plus)
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Working knowledge of Teraview
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Sharp organization and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
