About this role

Our Client Our client, a highly regarded national litigation firm, is seeking a talented Associate Lawyer to join its growing litigation team in Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with experience in civil litigation, insurance defence, and/or institutional liability matters to join a collaborative and sophisticated practice handling complex and high-profile claims, Key Responsibilities • Manage and advance a broad range of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. • Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, motions, and other litigation proceedings. • Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and legal opinions. • Work closely with clients and provide strategic legal advice and litigation support. • Collaborate with senior lawyers on complex and sensitive litigation files. • Be largely self-sufficient and able to lead a large number of abuse claims. • Support/provide a high level of service to existing clients and market to new clients. Qualifications • Licensed to practice law in Ontario • Approximately 5+ years of civil litigation experience--defence litigation experience strongly preferred. • Must have significant exposure to/interest in the area of institutional liability, civil/historical abuse, professional liability, or other complex litigation matters. • Strong advocacy, drafting, and client management skills. • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
