About the Role Our client, a diversified manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation projects. This role, based in Des Moines, Iowa , will be instrumental in selecting, designing, and deploying a new ERP system across the organization. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the implementation lifecycle, from vendor selection and requirements gathering to system configuration, testing, training, and go-live. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), exceptional project management skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and successful deployment of an enterprise-wide ERP system implementation. Manage project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders from various departments (Finance, Operations, HR, Supply Chain) to define requirements and ensure system alignment. Oversee the selection and management of ERP software vendors and implementation partners. Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including detailed work breakdown structures, risk assessments, and communication strategies. Ensure rigorous testing, data migration, user training, and change management activities are effectively executed. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement timely mitigation strategies to ensure successful go-live and adoption. Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project teams, steering committees, and executive leadership. Ensure the implemented ERP solution meets business requirements and delivers expected benefits and ROI. Drive continuous improvement by documenting best practices and lessons learned from the implementation process. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of 9 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale ERP implementations. Proven experience managing full lifecycle ERP projects (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) from selection to post-go-live support. Strong understanding of core business processes across finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and human resources. Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira). Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with cross-functional teams and drive change management initiatives. Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing remote collaboration with on-site activities in Des Moines, Iowa . Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on business process optimization.
