About this role

• Lead electrical design activities for mining and metals projects, including power distribution systems, substations, and related infrastructure. • Perform equipment sizing and selection for key electrical components such as transformers, generators, drives, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, cables, and grounding systems. • Support the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, best practices, and technical guidelines. • Prepare technical documentation, bid packages, and evaluation materials for electrical equipment and bulk materials. • Produce core electrical engineering deliverables such as single-line diagrams, load lists, equipment datasheets, layouts, cable schedules, and design packages for execution. • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical oversight to junior and intermediate team members. • Contribute to engineering studies, technical reports, and design reviews, including evaluation of alternative approaches. • Promote collaboration and high performance through coaching, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day support. • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery. • Manage electrical discipline activities to align with project scope, schedule, and budget requirements. • Ensure applicable codes, standards, and project requirements are reflected in the design. • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and coordinate design interfaces. • Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the design process. • Work with stakeholders to identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions. • Use engineering tools, software, and reference materials effectively to support accurate and efficient design work. • Provide guidance to junior and intermediate engineers and designers across project phases.
