Our Client Our client is a venture-backed, technology-enabled healthcare services company transforming the delivery of care through a combination of physical locations, virtual capabilities, and digital experiences. Operating a growing network of clinics across Canada, the organization is focused on leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency, elevate the customer experience, and support frontline care teams. The company has established strong momentum and is entering an exciting scale-up phase. Backed by institutional and angel investors, the business is seeking a high-calibre Vice President, Technology to unify Product, Engineering, and IT while helping build the technology foundation required for its next stage of growth. Reporting to the President and CFO, the VP, Technology will serve as a strategic and operational partner to leaders across the organization. This is a hands-on, player-coach role requiring a leader who can bridge technology and operations, implement practical solutions, and enable teams to deliver exceptional experiences. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Business Enablement • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the technology roadmap aligned with business objectives • Translate operational challenges into scalable technology solutions • Support virtual operations, scheduling, customer experience, and other strategic initiatives • Drive technology-enabled improvements across the organization • Participate in strategic planning and cross-functional decision-making Product & Engineering Leadership • Provide unified leadership across Product and Engineering • Prioritize and manage the product roadmap in partnership with Operations, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams • Ensure delivery against priorities while maintaining appropriate technical standards • Foster a pragmatic, outcomes-oriented approach to technology development • Develop and mentor a high-performing technology team AI, Automation & Digital Transformation • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency and reduce friction • Evaluate emerging technologies and implement practical solutions that create business value • Support workflow automation, operational optimization, and enhanced customer experiences • Champion innovation while maintaining a disciplined approach to investment and execution Systems, Infrastructure & Vendor Management • Oversee IT systems and infrastructure across a distributed clinic network • Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable as the organization grows • Lead vendor evaluations and platform selection decisions • Drive a "build versus buy" philosophy with a preference toward proven off-the-shelf solutions • Manage third-party technology relationships and service providers Cross-Functional Leadership • Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Experience teams • Act as a trusted advisor and resource rather than a gatekeeper • Build credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement Qualifications • 8+ years of progressive technology experience with 3–5+ years in leadership roles • Experience leading Product and Engineering functions, or deep exposure to both disciplines • Engineering background or strong technical foundation with the ability to make informed technology decisions • Proven success in high-growth, venture-backed, or entrepreneurial environments • Experience scaling technology within organizations of approximately 50–300 employees • Demonstrated ability to apply technology to operational challenges and customer experience initiatives • Strong experience evaluating and implementing third-party platforms and vendor solutions • Hands-on experience leveraging AI and automation to drive productivity and efficiency • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills • Experience within healthcare, multi-site operations, telehealth, wellness, consumer services, or other regulated environments is considered an asset • Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with limited resources • Toronto-based candidates are preferred, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring regular in-office collaboration Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven, high-growth organization at a pivotal stage of its evolution.
