Web & Multimedia Software Developer

PrecisionERP is seeking a Web & Multimedia Software Developer to work an initial 1-year REMOTE contract with one of our clients based in Saskatoon, SK. Description The Web & Multimedia Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications and multimedia streaming systems in on-premise, self-hosted environments. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within complex networking and software infrastructures. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain web applications using modern frontend frameworks and Python/FastAPI backends • Design and manage relational databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL) • Build and optimize multimedia streaming pipelines, including hardware-accelerated encoding/decoding, stream muxing, storage, and transport • Deploy and support applications in self-hosted environments • Troubleshoot complex networking and software issues Requirements • Degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • Full-stack web development experience with Python and FastAPI • Strong database design and administration experience with SQLite and PostgreSQL • Knowledge of multimedia streaming technologies, container formats, streaming protocols, and hardware-accelerated media processing • Experience deploying and maintaining on-premise applications • Familiarity with networking, system administration, and complex infrastructure environments Additional Information Preference will be given to candidates local to Saskatoon, although remote candidates will be considered. Experience developing UI for live-streaming or online software and working with high-performance NVIDIA GPU environments is a strong asset.
