About this role

Our client is looking for a Controller for a 12-month contract. The role will require working in Toronto, 2 days a week. Job#: 479043 Responsibilities: • Lead month-end and year-end accounting and reporting activities, ensuring deadlines are met. • Prepare and review financial reporting packages for the parent company, including flash reporting and actuals submissions. • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. • Support the team through the year-end and limited scope audit procedures. • Coach and oversee accounting staff, including providing guidance to the senior accountant on priorities and deliverables. • Use advanced Excel skills to manage reporting files, data mapping, linked workbooks, and variance analysis. Requirements: • CPA or equivalent accounting designation required. • Strong experience in full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and financial statement preparation. • Proven background in accounting/reporting leadership at the manager or senior manager level. • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, index/match, sumifs, and working with linked workbooks. • Ability to work independently, think critically, and hit the ground running in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. ----- DISCLAIMERS ----- You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
