Manager, Architectural Project Design
We are seeking a Manager to lead and mentor a multidisciplinary design team across our Decoustics and Strongsville Wood divisions.
Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and mentor a design team of 89 direct reports.
• Assign and schedule projects, manage team workload, and conduct performance reviews.
• Oversee the creation and validation of detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to address design and technical inquiries.
• Develop and implement CAD procedures and standard operating procedures.
• Support cross‑training and process improvement initiatives to maximize team flexibility.
• Manage external freelancers and oversee invoicing and billing.
• Provide regular project status reviews to Project Managers and Senior Management.
Travel
Quarterly travel to Strongsville and other North American locations (~10% of time). Hybrid work environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in architectural design or engineering (required).
• 15+ years of industry experience in commercial construction or an equivalent field.
• 15+ years of leadership experience managing cross‑functional design teams.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks and ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of custom ceiling design (fiberglass, metal, wood).
• Proven ability to lead meetings, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
