Purpose
Contributes to the overall success in
Technology Finance
ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Maintains
the
central financial datasets and spreadsheets, including
financial results,
and
master transit
/
account hierarchies, used by Technology Finance for planning, forecasting, and reporting.
Use different tools to create,
update
and support the database with strategic decisions.
• Implement automation
to increase the team’s efficiency
.
• Prime liaison with main technology support team
• Prepares and presents complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise, and user-friendly manner for Technology Finance management
(i.e., data visualization).
• Implements continual improvements to processes and reporting to meet evolving business requirements and best practices.
• Ad hoc analysis and reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Champions

deepen client relationships
and
leverage
broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of

and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/
sanctions,

• Demands at month-end/quarter-end are high in terms of financial reporting requirements; must manage workloads and produce high quality output efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
• As a key business partner, must effectively build relationships with the key partners across Finance and Technology
Education / Experience / Other Information
• University degree in business, finance, or equivalent
• Experience working with large datasets / databases
• Proficiency with Excel
• Experience with VBA coding
• Attention to detail is crucial
• Data visualization, data illustrations and automation
• Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
• SQL (would be an asset)
