About the Role
The Director of Finance is a key on-site leadership role based in Etobicoke, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a hands-on position overseeing financial reporting, audit readiness, cash & working capital, budgeting/forecasting, and process improvement across multiple facilities (Toronto, Chicago, Wixom).
Importantly, this role is designed as a succession-track opportunity, with close exposure to the CFO and ownership and a clear runway to grow into broader enterprise leadership over time.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and multi-entity consolidation
• Own audit coordination and external auditor relationships
• Drive cash flow forecasting, working capital improvement, and stronger AR/AP/inventory controls
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles; support profitability and cost discipline
• Strengthen internal controls, standardize processes, and improve reporting/ERP utilization
• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting/finance team
Estimated Focus Areas
• Cash & working capital (treasury, liquidity): 20–25%
• Major customer finance / costings / governance: 20–25%
• Audit readiness & compliance: 10–15%
• Multi-entity consolidation & analysis: 10–15%
• Insurance & risk / customer requirements: 10–15%
• Budgeting & forecasting: 10–15%
Qualifications
• CPA, CA required
• 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including 2+ years managing
• Strong technical accounting across ASPE / IFRS (GAAP knowledge an asset)
• Manufacturing + multi-entity + audit experience strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel + ERP capability (pivot tables/lookups; macros an asset)
• Must work 100% on-site in Etobicoke
• Year-end: Dec 31 | Audit: April

You likely come from either:
• A large public accounting foundation (national / large regional; “Top 10–15” caliber in Canada) plus progressive industry roles, or
• A strong industry track into Controller / Finance Manager / Director-level responsibility (manufacturing preferred)
