About this role

The Opportunity liaison between HR Subject Matter Experts and IT service providers, translating business requirements into functional specifications for the new department. In this role, you will be responsible for providing analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing support for Human Resources systems as part of the HR Technology unit. You will utilize functional expertise in HR tech stack to ensure business and user requirements are accurately understood and translated into appropriate system functionality. You will also participate in requirement gathering unit testing and coordinate or lead user acceptance testing with various Centre of Expertise (COEs) and business units. Other responsibilities include: • Documenting business requirements and collaborating with technical developers to design and develop custom solutions, interfaces, and related configurations and security setups • Establishing and maintaining system-related documentation, including how-to guides and procedures for supported modules, system functions, and enhancements. • Developing detailed test plans for supported modules to address challenges, maintenance packs, tax updates, and new functionality in the future phases of HR systems. • Providing problem resolution through technical analysis, including resource estimates, work plans, and workflow documentation, collaborating with unit members and technical developers to ensure timely resolution of the issues • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR-related systems and technology, including the latest application releases, security updates and document management Qualifications To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications: • Completion of post-secondary degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or Human Resources • Must have at least three to five (3-5) years' of relevant work experience in the following: • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft products, PeopleTools and writing/understanding SQL and normalized data/table structures. • Translating HR business requirements into PeopleSoft/ServiceNow application functionality, including process design, configuration and testing, preferably in a higher education or public sector organization • PeopleSoft HCM functionality. • Experience working with relational databases and designing complex reporting extracts. • Excellent, well developed, analytical skills to consider and balance functional requirements against technology constraints and the ability to conceive of alternative approaches and strategies balancing business and end-user needs against a sound technical approach. • Understanding of Data Architecture. • Ability to incorporate understanding of technology infrastructure, including Servers, Networks, Relational Database Technology (Oracle), etc. into work. • Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies related to HR systems and web-based applications. (e.g. ServiceNow) • Initiative and self direction while understanding the importance of teamwork, consultation and communication. • Well-developed listening skills, along with strong oral and written communication abilities, to effectively discuss technical issues with non-technical individuals and business issues with technical personnel. • Excellent organizational skills to ensure high-quality work and adherence to deadlines, with a strong client focus approach.
